I know virgin mobile is good, but it is not compatible with a mac.

All the ones I’ve seen are good with Macs. The only problem that Virgin Mobile might have is a dongle or whatever you plug in that doesn’t have Mac drivers.
Anyhow, Virgin Mobile is a terrible plan. It’s much more expensive than Verizon and AT&T for the amount of data you get and has very poor coverage. Check out the Big outfits.
